All
I am sorry but I dont want any body who has been exposed to Change management roles
The very thought of trench coats, suspenders and black socks just send shivers down my spine
A S Manikandan, if you are a consultant, you are being paid to provide this information to your clients.
If you dont know what you are consulting for and being paid.. why should we give you stuff that you will / have charged the client for
As for CM roles and responsibilities, well ... ITIL defines CM, shirley it defines ro&R _________________ John Hardesty

Ah
A little better. Consultants are also IT consultants. There is a difference btween Recruiter consultants and It Consultants
OK
ITIL oriented CM comes in various flavours
1 - service specific CM - The CM process is for a specific area such as Network or Infrastructure or Application.
2 - IT Service - similar to the above but is concerned with laptop, desktops etc
3 - All encompasing -
4 - Unknown - The CM Process is very weak
Key traits for CM staff
There are several posts in this forum about this
the CM (Change manager)
does not need to be a techie - it helps - but not necessary.
They should be process oriented - change
They should be ITIL certified at least to Practitioner (v2) or have had a year of experience
Ticket system experience is not really a concern... one ticket system is as good or bad as the other
The need to be independent and able to work w/o close seniro mgmt supervision and they have to be rather ... well
I describe myself as
anal rententive pedantic power mad dictatorial type
the purpose of the CM manager is to protect the production (live) incoming generating environment from the idiots in the company who want to change things
Change staff - admin, clerks etc
Should be process and detail oriented _________________ John Hardesty

We should take those Senior Managers to the "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" show. |
