We are searching for a seasoned Operations Architect to lead in the development of our operations infrastructure, monitoring, and processes while providing ongoing third level technical support for our service infrastructure. This is a seed position that could develop into more responsibility as our business grows. Candidates for this position must be able to work responsibly, independently, and with a high degree of professionalism as they are responsible for revenue generating online service.

Position Description

We currently have a requirement for an Operations Architect to lead in the design, installation, and configuration of the infrastructure that delivers all of our product offerings. As well the Operations Architect will be responsible for leading the evaluation/purchase or development of application, system, and network tools to proactively monitor and repair the infrastructure and service. As well, the Operations Architect will be responsible for leading the development of sound Service Operations process, measurement, escalation, and auditing techniques to ensure the service is operating at four nines availability. The Operations Architect will also be responsible for providing third level support during the early phases of the company’s business expansion. The Operations Architect will also be responsible for driving difficult issues in to QA and Engineering to improve the products from a functional and operational vantage point. Our service and infrastructure will be required to double in size by the end of this calendar year. This will involve applying your talents, skills, and experience to maintain uptime and improve the reliability of servers, data center sites, application services, and network infrastructure for the entire company business.


Building on a minimum of 10 years of experience in Systems or Network Administration, the proven experience in creating service operations infrastructure architectures, designs, and executing deployment plans for large-scale web based businesses.
Deep experience with designing, configuring, deploying, troubleshooting, and administering LAMP infrastructures, RAID.
Deep experience in developing world class operations process, procedures, and audits to approach four nines.
Deep experience in tuning and optimizing web, application, and database servers to the kernel level.
Experience programming with C, C++, C-Shell, Perl, HTML, and JavaScript with the ability to review code for operational readiness.
Solid working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Cisco IOS, BGP routing, load balancing, switching, VLANS, F5, VPN(S), ISPs, IDC Peering, MAN, IDS, Radius.
Network analysis and sniffer tools.
Traffic shaping, policing, and general QoS technologies
Understanding of Multicast and SIP and RTP protocols.
Minimum of a BS in Computer Science, MSCS preferred, or closely related degree council.
Collaborative team player, able to garner respect from software engineering and development communities.
Monitoring development experience with Cricket and Nagio a plus, experience with source code management a plus.
VOIP administration experience a plus.
Microsoft Exchange experience a plus.
ITIL Certification a plus.
