Now, internally T/S could find itself under IT Service Management, IT operations Management, IT Service Desk Management, or combined in some way with Application Support, or directly reporting to the CIO or its like.
There is a fourth unless you had in mind external service provider for this (but it's not quite the same) and that is externally contracted technical support (as a service in its own right).
And that's before we start to discuss what scope you have in mind for "technical support". _________________ "Method goes far to prevent trouble in business: for it makes the task easy, hinders confusion, saves abundance of time, and instructs those that have business depending, both what to do and what to hope."
