ITIL in Canada ... What's Happening?

For those of you in Canada who are practising ITIL , I'd appreciate your take on what the "issues" are, or the status/problems of wider-spread adoption of the ITIL framework specifically in Canada. I'm writing an ITIL article for a Canadian IT service provider's customer newsletter ... goes to about 2,000 IT managers across Canada ... and I'd like to find an 'angle' for the article that would be topical/current and might be of interest to this audience

No experience of Canada but I think take up of ITIL all over will only ever be a gradual thing, focussed very much on the economies of various business sectors. I work as a Service Management Consultant in the UK, having previously worked in the US and across Europe. I have seen the same issue with people wanting to adopt ITIL - Justification. Because ITIL is not something that can not be seen or touched non IT people, who quite often hold the purse strings, find it difficult to understand exactly how it is going to help them or what they will get from it. Organisations that have adopted ITIL very often had nothing in place before so comparing the before and after is quite often very difficult, making examples of benefits derived from ITIL few and far between.
Business people like things in black in white, spend X get Y save Z. It is not so easy to provide this information for ITIL so they are reluctant to invest.

Don't know if this has answered your question, but could hopefully provide some background into why widespread adoption is slow in general.
