What current tools do you utilize to manage your IT service now?
The framework can be applied to your existing management suite and help you identify the gaps were you may need to upgrade your current tools.
Potentially, you should not really try to bolt something new on to your management suite, until you identified the gaps/needs.

Just to put the front implied in Boydness's perfectly reasonable answer:
1. you do not ever implement ITIL.
2. starting with tools acquisition is potentially worse than not starting at all. _________________ "Method goes far to prevent trouble in business: for it makes the task easy, hinders confusion, saves abundance of time, and instructs those that have business depending, both what to do and what to hope."
