I could write one in ten minutes.

That makes your template 10% better than mine would have been

or

I would have been 10% more efficient than you

or something.

Congratulations on being so gifted!
So, was the template shared with the original poster?

I think that I and others would be interested in seeing it as well.

Boydness,

A template for a handover from development to OPerations that I would write or what Diarmid would write would be absolutely worthless to any one else other than ourselves

If you need a handover template, write one. Involve the handover ee and the handover er.

The ee and the er would know what they can provide and what they need - respectively.

You probably have not notice but Diarmid, myself and others answer the questions in the most interesting of ways.

As for giving the template
1 - there is function on here for attachments
2 - there is no email for the original poster
3 - Am I going to be paid for my work ?
3a - Is Diarmid ?

Dont put your email address in here
Dont put links either

Bah! John got in ahead of me.

Anyway. To flesh it out:

- we do not know whether the operational scheme is built alongside development or after handover

- we do not know the nature or scale of the objects being handed over

- we do not know the operational environment and constraints that have to be addressed

- we do not know whether the development staff are also the live support staff or if they handover to different support staff

- we do not even know if the developers belong to the same organization as the Operational staff

- in fact we do not know anything about the organization involved.

So, next time "flesh it out" first (before being pricks), not after.

No, it just seems that a certain 2 individuals respond with poor and insulting comments to nearly all posts.

Half the time you offer great logical information, the other times you seem to not understand that the newbies are "new", so of course they are not asking the rights questions or providing the right information to achieve the information that the seek. You should help them understand why they are confused, not point out that they are clueless in a prick-ish manner.

Treat the "newbies" as you are an ambassador of ITIL, because to them, you are, they are going to judge all involved with this forum or ITIL based on your responses. There is where they are coming to learn more about the ITIL that they have just learned even exists.

Of all people, I would expect constant professionalism from you and helping them identify the gaps where they need a professional consultant to make further progress. Frankly, these are the guys that have to go back and sell their organization that they need consultants to do what is being asked of them related to ITIL.

Based on your comments, I hope you are not seriously seeking (UK-wide) employment in IT Service Management and Quality Management fields, because I think your actions with your comments would undermine that outcome.

Think about it.
