As a newbie to change management I am still getting to grips with
how people relate to change and what they, and more importantly, I
perceive a change to be. When tech staff are testing remote servers at a D.R. facility for instance, by copying data from a production box to a test environment, does that constitute a change? Would it be a standard change?

Do you have the ITIL books or have been on a course ?
From a pure ITIL sense ... no
There are no configuration data being changed. No CIs being configured. It is merely data being transfered
however.. if you are taking live data and using it in a test environment .. does this violate privary rules/requirements etc _________________ John Hardesty
