I purchased an ITIL Foundation correspondence course in 2008, but never actually got around to sitting the exam. Now that I have found myself between jobs I have time to complete it, but I have been told by the training company I purchased it from that I will have to buy the 2011 version otherwise I will not be able to pass the exam. Is that true or are they just trying to get more money out of me? I can't believe that the fundamental principles and course material has changed that much since 2008. Can anyone advise me please?

yes.

the exam can changed
yes
the material changed somewhat

when they did the revision to 2011... all foundation courses and exams had to be against the new revision

the ATO has to follow the rules.. so do you

the fact that you bought a course 5 years ago....and did not act on it.. is you wasting your money... nothing more
