I recently attended Process Management courses given by Dr. Michael Hammer in Boston. Our organization is defining our process model and trying to integrate the ITIL processes into this concept. I am struggling with Dr. Hammer's definition of process vs. using ITIL simply as a set of best practices. At this point I see no correlation other than using ITIL as a tool to execute our customer focused defined processes. Has anyone out there attended these course and attempted the same thing?
ITIL is more best practice and a GUIDE where to fit in your process. It's not a crime to pick and choose what you need from ITIL..
Don't get lost on the myopic details.
You may very well be ITIL "guidelined" already.
