Hi ericsd

I guess it comes back to the old chestnut of 'It depends'

I would suggest that you look at how you want to acces the information. What is important to you?

Is it the Application Name?

Is it the Vendor?

etc.etc.

And then develop a tree accordingly.

Hi Procman Having read all the thread with great interest, it seems to me that your authorisation is, in fact, a Release authorisation, as opposed to a RFC authorisation. As such you will have work going on during your lead time. We used to do it that way until we separated our process into RFC and ...

Hi Martin

The basic problem here seems to be that the implementer is sending out a Closure E-Mail before the Post Implementation Review is completed.

Adjust your process to prevent this. This will stop any arguments

Diarmid

I just love the idea of a presentation to management, and of course the final question is always:- If they have enough info to do a presentation, why didn't they put all of it into a Request For Change?

Superb!!!!!

No I haven't

So I googled it and the only thing that came up was Hornbill's research as reported by Service Desk 360

Reading this makes it seem like we are a bunch of deaf dinosaurs

I am unsure about this as some of the stuff seems fairly accurate (Ouch)

I can see where you are coming from John, but I think that this is slightly different. It is ITIL based, is helping people get on the ITIL ladder of Certifications, and in reality no worse than a job offer that we allow in ITIL Jobs. There are no links in the post either. So in my book this is doing...

Hi Tom with regard to your questions, I would advise using positive questions, rather than negative, as this is easier for people to relate to, and after reading a recent article on the BBC news website, I would be inclined to avoid a slideshow. see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8207849.stm fo...

Hi swansong

I can see why you might think that, but in my experience, they have a tightly controlled pricelist, for example BMC (Remedy etc) have pricelist that goes down to how many processors the boxes run - the more the processors, the more you pay per box etc.

Vimprash

I dealt with Infra back in 2005, but was looking for Change and Config Man - Unfortunately I have got rid of the quote they gave me, but I seem to remember it was in the region of £42,000. However, some of the functionality I was looking for was not there.

Hope this helps
