PS: Consulting means that you have to take your business ethics very seriously. You need a values system. I stick to the below that I borrowed from McKinsey & Co years ago: EARN TRUST, MAINTAIN TRUST, DELIVER VALUE. * To put the Client’s interests ahead of our own interests * To maintain confidence,...

google "ITIL Live" there is a site that offers what you're asking about as a service. The company that you're working for - hopefully for you, you are not a one-person show starting from scratch, and there are people you can learn from or shadow for your first couple of consulting gigs. if I were yo...

I scored 72% for SS and 80% for SD. simple way to pass in terms of exam technique and preparation is to: get some miles into your handwriting by: writing up some notes doing as many practice questions as possible (and getting your instructor to mark them) When doing practice exams, do them under exa...

Save your time and money. An ITIL V3 Foundation certificate is all you will ever need. In fact I suggest that you waltz into your CEO's office and demand a healthy pay-rise due to this highly sought after certificate. If he asks for some justification, just use some of your new-found ITIL terminolog...

I think that that is a bit harsh - We can implement best practice in small ways - incident and problem management, change management, customer satisfaction surveys etc. Sometimes it is necessary to prove to management the benefits of doing things in a different way, rather than trying to gain their...

There are a few things you can to RE: ITIL-lite. 1) You always need to get support of someone who can make decisions. In small (maybe all) organisations, that canbe the person in charge of finances. Get them on-side. 2) Document the expectations of the business of what you're deliverying them. A goo...

When you're dealing with any "ITIL" tooling vendor, beware, beware, beware. Frankly, some individuals from the ITIL tool vendors could do with some business ethics. If they say: you can "buy ITIL compliance out of the box" - run away and don't look back. If they suggest: that you should accept their...

4 weeks is pretty fast, mine was more like 8-10 weeks.

For what it is worth, in Australia both ProActive Services and Lucid IT provide the SD and SS books for the v3 Mgrs course. The other training Co's in Oz probably do as well.

Oddly, for the Mgrs bridge they (Lucid IT) just provided a small overview book.

all a bit moot now I suppose.

For what it's worth, sheep-dipping your people through ITIL Foundation is a part of an edumacation strategy. It could do more harm than good actually, by setting unreal expectations as to what you're going to do with the theory. Answer these questions: • Why are we doing this? • What changes for us?...

If you attend a credible 3-day course you should find it easy to pass. It depends on the job you're aiming for but as a general rule, it doesn't carry much weight at all. It is sometimes a very basic minimum requirement but you're unlikely to stand out from a crowd due to a pretty simple 3-day certi...
