COBIT 4.1 has some free stuff.
The ITIL books have a little bit in them.

That aside - get your work to pay for maturity assessments & methods.

Or go to

itskeptic dot org

this guy has pretty good links to lots of free or cheap ITIL stuff, plus an entertaining ITSM oriented blog.

Not necessarily, but maybe.

Someone will have to review the ITIL v3 Master assignments/assessments. ie: the thing beyond ITIL v3 Expert which is multiguess.

Maybe the powers that be will come to their senses and make the intermediate exams written - that would be nice.

Who does the assessment/interview? The usual suspects, I presume, who will have awarded it to each other. I would love there to...

If you've got the intro book, read it before you tackle the full big 5 books. Always nice to get through the lifecycle end-to-end without going so deep into the detail.

You might find yourself tearing your hair out part-way through the Service Strategy book as it is a bit chaotic.

Too Funny.

Sambihr - do what Liz suggested, and maybe also get hold of the V3 Continuous Service Improvement book. That provides some good guidance on common sense 101.

pay the money and go on a 3 day foundations course. better yet, get your employer to pay.

that aside, just buy an ITIL pocket book. about 15 euros. just to get familiar with some of the terminology.
