Hi,

I just joined change Management department and my boss asked me to provide him with ideas to improve CM process and tools the most problems we are facing now as follow:
  • Emergency Change is out of control
    • The deployment of he change is usually delay


      I'd like who has experince in Change Managment field to help me

First,

do you have a CM policy document
if not, make one
2 - the CM process for emergencys should be streamlined but controlled

This can be done several ways

I use the CR forms but then I also use emails for authorization of out of hours implementaiton of emergency changes

the hard part is separating the

'emergency'- a project manager wants their work done now because they failed to plan

and

Emergency - live service impacting / outage oriented work to correct

The CM Policy document should be explicit about this

And don't forget the "political emergency", when the CxO or the head of a business unit pushes Changes ...

We call political emergencies "Priority 0"
