I'm working on a process somewhere in the midst of Incident Management and Problem Management.
We have numerous home-grown scripts, across several platforms that send e-mails to specific groups of people when particular events are detected (file rec'd/not rec'd, queue length, age, etc)[IM]. However, other than an individuals In-box, there is no historical record of events, or the ability to analyze a cross-section of the events [PM].
Does anybody have experience with a tool that can receive an e-mail and parse it out as a record in a database or a flat file that can then be imported to a db? An automated process would be ideal.
There was one or two Google hits on GUI apps for manual conversion. I even searched for SNMP receivers - there were some, but not real sure if that's what I'm looking for.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
