Root Cause Identification Success Rate

Hello everyone,

This is my first post on this forum. I have been looking for ITIL industry Problem Management related statistics and am having a really tough time coming up with anything. I've reached out to Forrester and a few others in the ITIL industry to no avail.

I am trying to get a sense for what other companies experience is with Root Cause Identification success rates. Said another way, I am looking for what percentage root cause is successfully identified. In my organization, we have just begun to track this metric and are at about 70%. We are not sure how to judge whether that's bad or good or what a worthy goal would be for this stat.

Anyone else track this or have sense for how your organization is doing on Root Cause Identification success rate? Would appreciate your feedback.
